Ok, I had hell in work today. We had a missing customer's file that all
the staff was looking everywhere for seven hours, without a clue to be
found. We ended up telling him his file was missing and we're trying
hard to find it, and offered refund (because we thought it was a mistake
on our part)
hours later we found his file, and we came to realize
he changed his last name last year when he got married (gay marriage of course) and didn't tell us the change.
Well, it's obvious that nobody in the office even imaged that he was
gay, married, and changed his last name. In fact, we don't often come
across men changing their last name upon marriage (in fact this is the
first time i've seen it)
Does this happen often? do you usually change your last name (well one of you at least) upon marriage?
If so, i'd imagine it's a bureaucratic hell (I don't think we're the
only office out there that new to the idea of men changing their
surname) how do u deal with it?
